The newest edition of Oakland Magazine is out and somehow they put us in the people/places picture section as we attended the Alameda County Food Bank Empty Bowls "Hope not Hunger" Dinner:
The Hope Not Hunger awards were presented at the Alameda Community Food Banks family-friendly Empty Bowls fundraising and awareness event on June 5, which raised $45,000 for the Food Banks hunger relief efforts. Guests nourished themselves on a simple meal of bread and soup served in one of 300 colorful bowls painted by students at Redwood Day School. The empty bowls, which guests took home, serve as a reminder that hunger is a prevalent worldwide and local community issue. www.accfb.org.
We actually took a pretty good family picture!
